For the holiday season, legendary hip hop performer MC Hammer worked with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and Cash4Gold to supply toys for children in South Florida. He appeared in person on a fire truck with the sheriff to a DJ blasting his hits. With the support of Cash4Gold employees and company CEO Jeff Aronson, Hammer handed out more than 1,500 presents to the kids in attendance.
Meeting the Grammy Award-winner and receiving holiday gifts put smiles on the faces of the children as well as their families. NBC Miami has the full story below, or here.
Forget Santa, Hammer’s Gonna Turn This Christmas Out
Aging star to hand out toys to South Florida kids

Christmas time will be Hammertime for a group of needy South Florida kids this year
That’s right, ’90s rapper, dancer and fashion offender M.C. Hammer will be on hand tomorrow at the Broward Sheriff’s Office annual “Toys for Tots & Teens” event.
The “U Can’t Touch This” singer will join Santa and Mrs. Claus as they hand out thousands of toys to underprivileged kids 17 and under at the invitation-only event.
Why Hammer? Who knows. Considering his breakthrough album, “Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em” came out two years before any of the kids were born, and his career was essentially over a few years later, they’ll likely only recognize him from his Cash4Gold.com ads.
The event is at the Ron Cochran Public Safety Building at 2601 W. Broward Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
