Cash4Gold was joined by its celebrity spokesman MC Hammer in a holiday-time toy giveaway for needy children in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Hammer visited South Florida in December 2009 for three days of charity work, including the Stars of Life event at Joseph C. Carter Park.

The Stars of Life Toy Giveaway was sponsored by Cash4Gold, which organized the event in partnership with Essie “Big Mama” Reed.  The Fort Lauderdale Police Department also sponsored the event, which involved MC Hammer giving out presents to young children and posing for photos and handing out autographs.

The families in attendance at the event knew that they were attending a Big Mama event that would provide them with presents during the Christmas holiday, but they did not have any idea that MC Hammer was the surprise celebrity guest until he strode onto the stage at the event with Cash4Gold CEO Jeff Aronson to the sounds of his global smash hit “U Can’t Touch This.”

The day after the event, CNN.com (link to cnn.com) featured a video segment about the Cash 4 Gold event as the lead item under national news on its website.
