EXCLUSIVE: MC HAMMER Strikes Gold!

Three-time Grammy Award winner MC Hammer is well-known for being a generous guy and that’s abundant evidently in the work he’s doing to aid in the emergency efforts in the Pacific and here at home in Georgia.

The hip-hop star teamed up with mail-in gold buyer Cash4Gold and is not only donating his time and resources but is also using social media to rally his fans to support Feed the Children with relief efforts in the Philippines, American Samoa and Indonesia, and for the widespread flooding across Georgia.
“Throughout my 20-plus years in the music industry I have always been a humanitarian and community activist. For me, it is a pleasure to give my time, efforts and resources,” MC Hammer told CGL in an exclusive interview. He added that he partnered with Cash4Gold as part of his belief in “compassionate capitalism—do good and do well,” he said.

His efforts are also rallying others. “We have seen members of the media and the general public taking notice of our charitable efforts and thereby raising overall awareness about causes that should command our attention,” he told CGL. “For me, utilizing social media is an essential part of connecting with people on a daily basis. That is why I used Twitter to let everyone know what Cash4Gold and I were doing to support Feed The Children following the disasters in the Pacific and the flooding in Georgia, and to encourage others to also get involved.”

Recently, he and Cash4Gold CEO Jeff Aronson also helped Feed the Children hand out meals to families hard hit by the recession in the Stockton, Calif. area. In addition, the singer asked Aronson to donate to Feed the Children and Aronson did.
Does Mr. Hammer believe celebrities should use their stature to raise awareness in general for charitable causes. “Only if the celebrity has a heart and passion for it,” he told us. “He or she must truly believe in the cause. Fame alone doesn’t make you care.”

Thanks Hammer! Keep up the good work!
